Binta Tijjani Jibril (Mrs), B.Sc. (BUK), M.Sc. QDE (Warwick) PhD (ABU), AAIF

Associate Professor and Director, IIIBF. She has been with Bayero University, Kano for over two decades where she teaches, among other courses, Econometrics, Mathematical Method, Statistics and Project Analysis, at both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. Dr. Jibril holds and Associate Award in Islamic Finance (AAIF) from Islamic Banking and Finance Institute, Malaysia (IBFIM) and a certified Sukuk Issuance and Securities Analyst (SISA) certificate, Jordan. She is also a member of the Nigeria Economic Society (MNES). Shehu Usman Rano Aliyu, PhD (BUK), MNES, SISA, AAIF

Professor of Financial Economics and former Director, IIIBF. He has been with the services of Bayero University, Kano since 1992 and has been involved in teaching at undergraduate, graduate and professional levels and has served in various capacities within and outside the University community, including the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, Deputy Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Bayero University, Kano and Coordinator, Masters degree in banking and finance programme. Prof. Shehu Rano worked with the Research department of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a visiting scholar and has taught under the Joint Facility for Electives; a collaborative M. Sc./PhD programme sponsored by the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC). His current teaching and research interest is on the areas of Islamic finance and Islamic capital market.

Kabiru Isa Dandago, PhD (BUK), ACA, ACTI, MNIM, MNES, MBEN, AAIF

Professor of Accounting and the Chair, Bayero University Consultancy Services Unit. He has been with the services of the University for over two decades and has been teaching at all levels. He serves as an external examiner to many institutions in the country. Former head, department of Accounting, former Dean, faculty of social and management sciences, Bayero University, Kano. He equally served as a member of the University’s governing council. Prof. Dandago has several books and journal articles in both local and international journals to his credit. He is an external examiner to many academic institutions in the country. His research interest is on Islamic Insurance (Takaful), Islamic Accounting and Taxation, Shari’ah Auditing.

Aminu Kado Kurfi, PhD (UDUS), MNES, FCMA, CPA, MTMFA, AAIF, SISA

Professor of Business Administration and Finance and former coordinator, Masters in Business Administration. He has been with Bayero University for over two decades and has been teaching at undergraduate, graduate and professional levels. He authored many books and journal articles in the area of Islamic business and finance. Prof. Kurfi holds an Associate Award in Islamic Finance (AAIF) from Islamic Banking and Finance, Malaysia (IBFIM) and a certified Sukuk Issuance and Securities Analyst (SISA) certificate, Jordan. His research interest is on interest-free banking, Ijara (Leasing) and Islamic Mortgage finance.

He has presented a number of research papers at both national and international conferences and published a number of books in the areas of accounting and finance. Professor and Director Center for Quranic Studies, Bayero University, Kano. He was former head, department of Islamic Studies, Bayero University, Kano. He has served in various capacities in the University and teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He authored a number of scholarly books and journal articles in the area of Islamic jurisprudence, business and finance. Professor and former Assistant Director Research and Publications IIIBF-BUK. Prof. Ahmad holds a Doctorate degree in Law. He is a Senior Lecturer and former Dean, the Faculty of Law, Bayero University, Kano. Manir Abdullahi Kamba, B.A. (BUK), MLIS (BUK), PhD (IIUM), AAIF

Holds a Doctorate degree in library and information science from the international Islamic University, Malaysia. He had a strong background in economics, quantitative and research techniques. He has been involved in teaching graduate students and has presented scholarly papers at both local and international conferences and has published widely in reputable journals. Dr. Idris is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics, Bayero University Kano, Nigeria. He has been teaching, researching and publishing in reputable journals. Kabir Tahir Hamid, B.Sc. (BUK), M.Sc. (BUK), PhD (BUK), FCIFC, FIDRP, CPA, ACTM

An Associate Professor of Accounting at the Department of Accounting, Bayero University, Kano-Nigeria. He holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., MBA, and PhD. degrees in Accounting and Finance. He is a member, Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (ICPAN) and Chartered Institute of Treasury Managers of Nigeria (CITM), Fellow (and former National Vice-President), Chartered Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria (CIFCN) and Fellow, Institute of Debt Recovery Practitioners of Nigeria (IDRPN). He lectures at Bayero University Kano-Nigeria for upwards of sixteen years in addition to being a visiting lecturer to a number of Universities, as well as, a regular facilitator at training courses for both the public and private sector organizations. He has also attended and presented papers at a number of conferences, seminars and workshops both within and outside the country and has an upwards of forty (40) publications in reputable peer review journals, conference proceedings and book of readings. Currently, he is the Deputy Director Academic Programs IIIBF, BUK, Nigeria. His areas of interest include accounting and reporting for IFIs, taxation of IFIs products and services, Islamic capital market, Islamic microfinance, waqf and sukuk. Aliyu Dahiru Muhammad B.Sc. (BUK) M.Sc. PhD. (IIUM)

Dr. Aliyu is the deputy Director, Training and Linkages of the IIIBF-BUK. He received his Masters and Ph.D in Economics from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He received the overall faculty of economics best student award for doctor of economics in November, 2013. He is also a fellow, Islamic Relief Academy UK. Dr. Muhammad taught courses both at Undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Islamic Economics, Islamic Banking and Finance, Investment in Islamic Banking and Finance, Research Methodology among others. His areas of interest include: Islamic Economics and Finance, Zakat Waqf, Microfinance and poverty Reduction.

Nabil Bello Sa’id BSc, MBF (BUK); MIBF (Insaniah); IFP, AAIF, OCA

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Masters Degree in Banking and Finance both from BUK. He also obtained another Masters degree in Islamic Banking and Finance from Insaniah University College, Malaysia. Nabil is a Certified Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) and also earned an Associate Award in Islamic Finance (AAIF). He is the Coordinator of Masters of Islamic Banking and Finance programme, in the IIIBF-BUK. He is currently undergoing his PhD in Islamic Banking and Finance. Adamu is a member of Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals, Malaysia (CIIF). Farida Mohammed Shehu (Mrs) B.Sc., M.Sc. (BUK)

She is the Coordinator of Postgraduate Diploma in Islamic banking and Finance, in the IIIBF-BUK. She is currently undergoing her PhD in Islamic Finance and Banking at the Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Farida taught Islamic Finance and Introduction to Takaful and Re-takaful among others at postgraduate level. An Associate Member of the Commodity Brokers Association of Nigeria (CBAN), Farida was Assistant Head of Securities Division of Gidauniya Investment and Securities Ltd. (Member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange) before joining the services of the University. She has published in local and international journals, conference proceedings and made presentations in national and international conferences. Her research interests include: Islamic Entrepreneurship, Islamic Microfinance and Islamic Economic development.

Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido B.Sc. (BUK), M.Sc. (BUK)

Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido (BSc. MSc. Econ.) taught Economics at Gombe State University for eight years before joining the services of the IIIBF. Lamido has attended and presented papers at local and international conferences on Islamic Economics and Finance, in addition to publishing in local and international journals. His areas of academic interest include Development Economics, Islamic Economics, Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh) Objectives of the Islamic Law (Maqasid al-Shari'ah), zakah, waqf and Islamic Microfinance. Lamido has taught postgraduate courses on Ethics and Shari’ah Governance in Islamic Financial Institutions, Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence and Contract, Islamic Finance and Takaful. He has attended, organized and facilitated various courses and training workshops in Nigeria and other countries including Senegal, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Morocco. Muhammad joined the services of the University in 2012 and has been involved in teaching at both undergraduate and professional levels. Bello is a graduate of Islamic Studies and Shari’ah, holds M Sc. in Islamic Banking and Finance and is currently undergoing his PhD. Programme in the same field with the same Institute. Before joining the Institute he thought Islamic Banking and Finance in the School of Continuing Education (SCE) for four years. He attended various international and local conferences and presented many papers therein.
